ON THE ROAD WITH CLAAS-ERIK JOHANNSEN ON SYLT

Enjoy five days on Sylt, accompanied and commented on by Claas-Erik Johannsen – personal, informative, culinary.
He will take you on this very private exploration tour and
show you “his” Sylt.
Look forward to exciting and eventful days
that will take you across the island and also to the nearby mainland.
Claas-Erik Johannsen will once again guide the participating guests around his island of Sylt and to the adjacent mainland – personally, informatively, culinary.
We start on the evening of the day of arrival with a shared dinner and end the event with our famous late riser breakfast in the “particularly hearty” version. There is plenty of program on the days in between: We travel around the island in the vintage bus, then to Husum to see the crocuses bloom and the “Haus Theodor Storm” museum, to a very special concert in the St. Severin Church and on a tour of Keitum. On Thursday evening we will enjoy a 4-course meal together as a final dinner.

You arrive and first check in in peace. Perhaps you then relax in your room or treat yourself to a cup of tea or coffee in our fireplace room – with a piece of our homemade cake. Or you explore the offers of our WOLKENLÖN SPA. In any case, we are waiting for you, everything is prepared for your arrival.

Now we all come together for the first time at the chef’s table – the participants of the spring round SYLT3 and host Claas-Erik Johannsen as their tour guide on his island of Sylt. We meet for dinner in the living room of the BENEN-DIKEN-HOF – in the RESTAURANT KÖKKEN.

Tuesday . March 18th, 2025
We visit Husum.
- 10:00 a.m. – approx. 5:30 p.m. Excursion to the nearby mainland
- 10:00 a.m. We meet at the hotel reception
- 10:10 a.m. Walk to Keitum train station
- 10:25 a.m. – 10:43 a.m. Train ride Keitum – Klanxbüll
- 10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Bus ride Klanxbüll – Husum
We will be accompanied and informed on this day by Dörte Hansen. On the drive along the coast to Husum, she shows us the phenomenon of the Köge, embanked areas with clusters of buildings that were reclaimed from the sea in earlier times.

“Every spring, over 4 million crocuses transform the Husum castle park into a purple-colored natural spectacle.
The reason is the “Crocus neapolitanus”, a wild plant from the southern regions of Europe that has been providing a unique floral splendor for several hundred years. The largest crocus population in northern Europe is reason enough for the people of Husum to give this miracle royal dignity. On the occasion of the annual crocus blossom around the castle in front of Husum, the new Husum crocus blossom majesty is crowned and the crocus blossom festival is celebrated.” Tourism and city marketing Husum

The Storm House
“The Storm House, Wasserreihe 31, is the house that the poet lived in from 1866 to 1880. It is an old Husum merchant’s house with 14 rooms and dates back to 1730. The staircase, hallways, ceilings and doors are original from this period or from the Storm period.
The particularly impressive exhibits include the Biedermeier sofa with an engraved deer hunt, the square piano (which Storm’s father had delivered to his son in Heiligenstadt in 1857) and the desk at which the poet completed his novella »The Rider on the White Horse« – with four owls carved by the young Emil Nolde (1867-1956).

including shuttle transfer – we drive you there, we pick you up.
The church “St. Severin” in Keitum is famous for its church concerts. It has long been a tradition that these take place on Wednesdays. For anyone who wants to delve deeper into our world, a visit is a must. This church and the sound of its organ, brought to life by great organists, is one of the cornerstones of our Sylt culture.
This afternoon a very special concert awaits us:

On the day of departure we offer all participants our “legendary” breakfast buffet in the “particularly hearty” version. Let yourself be surprised.

If you want to extend your stay beyond Friday, you will of course stay the following days at the same preferential rates as the days before.
