Since 2008, exceptional talents have come together every summer to perform as VERDENSBALLETT (Danish for world ballet) in magical locations in the open air and in a relaxed atmosphere.
The program: classical and modern ballet parts, scenes and arias from well-known operas, as well as music for piano and violin.
In 2016, VERDENSBALLETT, which was initiated by Danish tenor Jens-Christian Wandt, left Denmark for the first time and performed on the meadows of BENEN-DIKEN-HOF. It was an incomparable evening that enchanted us all and which will take place for the eighth time this year on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
VERDENSBALLETT 2025 will once again prove that high culture can also be enjoyed in a relaxed and easy manner.
With Steven McRae, artistic director and principal dancer at the Royal Ballet of London, at the helm, some of the most talented dancers in the world are once again taking part. Their names will be published here soon.
The guest is the
BUNDESJUGENDBALLETT
The BUNDESJUGENDBALLETT is a dance company of eight international dance talents aged 18 to 23 who have already completed their dance training. They work and perform with the BUNDESJUGENDBALLETT for a maximum of two years. Under the artistic direction of John Neumeier and the artistic and pedagogical direction of Kevin Haigen, the company is based at the Ballettzentrum Hamburg – John Neumeier.
“We honor the tradition of classical dance and at the same time want to help shape change. The FEDERAL YOUTH BALLET has set itself the goal of developing young dancers, promoting creativity and, above all, bringing dance to everyone.”
The ballet, whose young dancers have thrilled audiences at the BENEN-DIKEN-HOF in previous years with their committed performances full of elegance, courage and joie de vivre, is back on Sylt in 2025 after a two-year break.
It will certainly be another fantastic evening of ballet – very special, unique. We’re looking forward to it.
Around 1,200 visitors are expected again.
