Since 2008, exceptional talents have come together every summer to perform as VERDENSBALLETT (from the Danish: world ballet) in magical outdoor venues and a relaxed atmosphere.
The programme: classical and modern ballet parts, scenes and arias from well-known operas as well as music for violin. The dancers are accompanied by opera singers, violinist Niklas Walentin and pianist Alexander McKenzie.
2016, the VERDENSBALLETT, initiated by the Danish tenor Jens-Christian Wandt, left Denmark for the first time and gave a guest performance together with the BundesJugendballett from Hamburg on the grounds of the BENEN-DIKEN-HOF. It was an incomparable evening that enchanted us all and is scheduled to take place for the seventh time on Thursday 11 July 2024.
The VERDENSBALLETT 2024 proves once again that high culture can also be enjoyed relaxed and with ease. This year’s tour will once again feature a selection of world-famous dancers, which we will announce here shortly.
It will be a fantastic ballet evening – very special, unique. We are excited.

Two things are new at VERDENSBALLETT 2024
1. The BUNDESJUGENDBALLETT will not take part this year as it is involved in the farewell performances in honor of the outgoing Hamburg Ballet director and chief choreographer John Neumeier. That’s a shame, but it offers the VERDENSBALLETT’s regular ensemble the opportunity to dance an expanded program. The BUNDESJUGENDBALLETT should be there again next year.
2. We have decided to use the services of the Danish booking system for online bookings together with the organizer in the future. It works excellently. Another change in this context concerns the range of sales outlets on Sylt. We, the BENEN-DIKEN-HOF, will be the only advance booking office on the island this year – apart from online booking of course. If you have any problems booking, please just call us or write us an email. Our reception staff will be happy to help you.

Parking . Please use the public parking spaces, as there are no parking spaces available on site and the street in front of the BENEN-DIKEN-HOF is closed during the event.
Clothing . Since this is an outdoor event, please remember to bring warm and weatherproof clothing.

Secure your VIP tickets for the VERDENSBALLETT. Enjoy a summer dinner at the KÖKKEN restaurant before the gala. In addition, after the VERDENSBALLETT performance you will be given access to the exclusive after-show reception, in which dancers and musicians will be present.
