The large and imposing Zollhaus 1 flat on the ground floor at Gurtstig 52 in Keitum offers 111 m² of space for a maximum of six people. At that time, still under Danish sovereignty, the Royal Customs House and a small stable building were built in the middle of Keitum. Until 1902 the house served as a customs office, which was then moved to Westerland. In the mid-1990s, both buildings were lovingly restored in cooperation with experts in the field of monument conservation. Another complete renovation followed in 2012.
